In Year 3 at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy we have been learning how to look after our teeth in Science. Mr Kilcoyne the dentist, came to tell us about teeth. He told us that it is important to only have sugary food now and then. We found out that too much sugar causes decay. Mr Kilcoyne told us to brush our teeth and gums morning and night and that we should visit the dentist every six months to keep our teeth healthy. He gave us a chart so we can tick when we brush our teeth. We told him about our experiment when we found out that coke makes teeth go brown. The best drinks for healthy teeth are water and milk.
We also found out that molars are best for chewing and canine teeth are for tearing food. We found out lots of information about how to keep our teeth healthy. Thank you Mr Kilcoyne for coming to visit us.
