Recently Year 6 at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy went on a residential trip to the haunted castle of Borwick Hall. Borwick Hall was believed to be haunted by a bewitching ghost the White Lady. Our instructors didn’t know the true reason why she died: but most people believe she jumped out of a glass window and we think most of the rooms were haunted especially Room 14!
We did archery, canoeing, rock climbing, caving, team challenges, orienteering, low ropes and the scariest thing there which was the Leap of Faith. It was so scary some of us called it the Leap of Death! Year 6 stayed there for three days and two nights. The first night we all wanted to go home and we were upset but by the second night we had had so much fun that we all didn’t want to leave.
The rooms in the castle were the lounge, bathrooms, library and a game room which had table tennis, table football and giant connect 4. Some bedrooms had bunk-beds; others had single beds. We were allowed to bring money for the tuck shop and we were allowed to bring midnight feasts; most of us brought sweets and drinks and crisps.
We all loved it there we would probably say that it was the best trip of a lifetime. We will be talking about it for years to come!
